Why you need to create your own plan for the future.




Financial planning is a process that takes into account your entire financial picture. To begin this process, first ask yourself these three questions:

  1. Where do I stand now?
  2. What do I want in the future?
  3. How do I get there?

As you consider these questions, it helps to write down your answers. By doing so, you are beginning the process of developing a written plan. A written plan provides a road map to help you get from point A to point B. This road map, however, is not “written in stone.” Instead, it becomes a working document that changes as circumstances in your life change. You will modify or adjust your plan throughout your lifetime. To help construct your written plan, follow the six steps listed below:
